First Visit
What to Bring
All you will need for your first visit is:
- a photo ID,
- your insurance card(s) if you have insurance,
- a list of any medications you take along with the dosage, and
- of course, your beautiful smile!
Will I Get a Cleaning Today?
Your first visit with us is going to last about 90 minutes. This is our time to get to know all about you. During this visit, your doctor/hygienist will:
- go over your health history,
- take a full mouth series of X-rays and a Panoramic X-ray (if we don’t have a diagnostic copy from your previous dentist), and
- perform a comprehensive exam with cancer screening.
Once this is complete and your doctor determines you have a healthy mouth, you will get your teeth cleaned. You will not get a cleaning, however, if there are more urgent treatment needs or signs of Periodontal Disease. At that point, a plan will be created to help get you back to a healthy smile.
Setting up Future Appointments
We recommend you leave your visit with an appointment for your next hygiene visit. Our hygiene appointments tend to fill up quickly, and you are more likely to get the day/time that is best for you if you schedule beforehand. However, life happens and there will be times when you need to reschedule an appointment. No worries! We actively work on our ASAP list and strive to get our patients scheduled in a timely manner.
Important note – we do have a Late Cancellation Policy that states a $50 fee will be incurred if at least 48 Business Hours notice is not given when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. Before an appointment can be rescheduled, the fee must be paid.
